Our Story & Mission
Meet Our Orthotic Specialist, Dr. George Lane
Our founder, Dr. George Lane, is a podiatrist with over 20 years of clinical experience. Dr. Lane founded Superior Foot Supports in 2018 with the mission of providing the best custom orthotics with the best customer service to the Richmond Virginia area.
As a runner in high school, Dr. Lane suffered numerous injuries due to all his distance running on the hard roads. After getting custom orthotics himself, he noticed that he could run much more mileage without getting injured.
Years later, as a young podiatrist, he began to realize that what was causing pain for so many people wasn't necessarily imperfect foot alignment, but also the unnaturally hard, flat surfaces that our feet are subjected to every day for hours on end. What he learned, over time, was that these hard surfaces were damaging to the feet, causing worsening of alignment and posture of the feet and the body, along with painful symptoms.
Dr. Lane determined that the most effective way of combating this problem was by protecting the feet with good footwear and support. Over the years, he evaluated many types of orthotics, both with his patients and himself, to determine which ones are the most effective. In 2012, he discovered Sole Supports lab and the innovative product they created, trying them first on himself, and found that they were by far the most comfortable, supportive, and corrective orthotics made. His patients' results were equally remarkable. Dr. Lane has been using them, both for himself & with his patients, ever since.
Dr. Lane's aim is to help others by educating them on the importance of proper footwear & support to prevent injuries, relieve pain, and prevent the need for additional unnecessary treatments or surgeries. In this effort, we strive to provide the very best custom foot orthotics to our customers.
